Turf Weeds was developed to provide weed management information and newsearch reports to turfgrass managers. This site contains information on weed identification, chemical and cultural management of weeds, and current topics relevant to weed management in lawns and professional turf. Turf Weeds was created by Dr. Shawn Askew, Assistant Professor of Turfgrass Weed Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.

Abstract:	The Pest Management Guides "PMG" are chemical control references provided by Virginia Cooperative Extension. Many people collaborate to bring you the PMG including Virginia Tech Faculty. The PMG contains up-to-date information on insect, disease, and weed control in a wide range of crops including tufgrass. There are three distinct PMG's. These include the Field Crops, Home Grounds & Animals, and Horticultural and Forestry Crops guides. Dr. Askew writes the sections on lawn weed control (found in "Home Grounds & Animals"), weed control in fine turfgrass (found in "Horticultural & Forestry Crops"), and turfgrass growth regulators(found in "Horticultural & Forestry Crops").
